This lino print depicts busy goldfinches feeding in the meadow grass, knapweed seed heads providing a fleeting meal.
It is a two block reduction print, meaning that two blocks are gradually cut away, printing a different colour or tonal change at each stage. Many layers of ink are added until everything but the final detail has been cut away. Using two blocks means there is more scope for combining and layering warm and cool colours.
Printed area is 56 x 39cm.
It is printed using oil based ink on printmaking paper.
Each print is signed and is one of an edition of 16
